CAMFED aims to provide the financial and social support to poor girls in sub-Saharan Africa to enable them to stay in school, transition to further education or careers, and join the Association of CAMFED graduates to help support younger girls in their education (on average, five other girls per graduate).

Many have developed into leaders in their fields, who serve as role models for younger girls.
